Chester’s MP Stephen Mosley will be the Conservative Candidate at the 2015 General Election.
Stephen was re-adopted this week in a secret ballot of local party members and the result was a unanimous endorsement of Stephen who won the seat off Labour in 2010.
Commenting on the result, Stephen Mosley MP said:
“I am humbled by the support I have received not just in this weeks secret ballot of members but from the public at large.
“A few days ago I was made to feel truly welcome by the thousands of people I met and spoke with at the Blacon Festival, and the street surgeries I have been doing continuously.
“It was the greatest honour to be elected three years ago and I am delighted that I will be given another chance to continue championing our great city in Parliament and beyond.”
Since being elected to Parliament, Stephen has been heavily involved in the Justice for Hillsborough campaign, championed safer building regulations, campaigned for cruise ship safety and has dealt with an average of 153 constituent letters or emails a week. Last month David Cameron appointed him his Small Business Ambassador for the North.
First to congratulate Stephen was former Chester Fire Chief and now Chairman of the Chester Conservatives John Salt, Mr Salt said:
“This unanimous vote is a ringing endorsement for Stephen’s incredible work ethic and dedication to the city. He is the MP every resident can clearly unite behind.”
