City of Chester MP, Stephen Mosley, has presented the first ‘graduates’ of the Advanced Employability scheme with certificates recognising their hard work and new-found skills.
Stephen officially opened the new Advanced Employability Chester Learndirect Centre and Work Club in March, and was delighted to be invited back to present its first students with their certificates.
Stephen received a tour of the Centre, and discussed its success with members of their team, as well as hearing from JobCentre staff about the benefits it is already bringing to those seeking employment. He then met with current students and those who had just completed courses, who told him how much they had enjoyed the course and what their next steps to employment were.
Stephen Mosley MP said: “It was great to be able to return to the Chester Advanced Employability centre to see the progress both the organisation and students have made. I hope that this is the start of a bright future for the students and the organisation, and I wish all those involved the best of luck”.
Advance Employability CIC was established to work with those outside the labour market who require support to find, achieve and sustain employment. In early 2012 they were awarded two contracts to deliver Learndirect in the North West. They work with key local stakeholders (including Jobcentre Plus, Work Programme Providers and those delivering other government-funded contracts) in order to provide job-seekers with the relevant skills required to help them into employment.
