Chester MP helps raise awareness of difficulties of disability

Stephen Mosley has assisted The Chester Accessibility Action Group in ensuring City bus stops are wheelchair-user friendly.Mr Mosley said: ‘I am pleased that I have been able to bring this to our Council’s attention, and satisfied by their promises of action on this matter. It is always pleasing when you are able to help and bring about the change, especially changes that can make such a difference to local residents lives’.Chester’s MP attended the Chester Disability Forum, and heard what small steps that could be taken to improve the lives of our disabled residents.

Following this meeting, Mr Mosley raised the issue of disabled access from bus-stops on Parkgate Road and Hoole Road to council chiefs and local Councillors Adrian Walmsley and Tom Parry, who have promised to take action and make them wheelchair-friendly.

Cheshire West and Chester Council are now set to alter the pavements at these bus-stops, in order to make them usable by our disabled residents.
