The Chester Tandoori Restaurant has won a place in the regional finals of the prestigious Newby Teas Tiffin Cup 2010 competition after being chosen to represent the City of Chester by Stephen Mosley MP.
The national competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.
This year 73 restaurants were nominated. Chester Tandoori, having won a place in the regional final, will battle with other restaurants from the North West to become one of the national finalists in the Newby Teas Tiffin Cup 2010 Grand Final.
Within the next few weeks a mystery diner will visit the restaurant and judge whether they deserve to represent the North West region at the Grand Final.
Chester MP Stephen Mosley said:
“I am delighted that the Chester Tandoori has been accepted into the regional final and hope that they impress the judges enough to progress to the Grand Final of this prestigious award. I am sure everyone in Chester will be supporting our local representative in this competition.”
Owner of the Brook Street restaurant, Mr Abdun Noor, spoke of his delight at the nomination:
“It is a real privilege to have been selected for the regional finals of this award. I know Stephen enjoys our food and he has visited us on a number of occasions. We will do our best to impress the judges and hope to champion the culinary offerings of Chester. “
